Most students complete each level in under four months, but you are given one year of Master Trainer support for each level. Extensions are available if needed.

About Level 2
You must successfully complete the Level 1 Certification before beginning the Level 2 Certification
Our Level 2 course builds on the foundation set by our Level 1 course and certifies instructors to teach intermediate pole classes. In addition to learning to teach more advanced pole movement (including inversions, more advanced ascents and descents and more advanced holds), Level 2 goes deeper into anatomy, the science of pole and using physics to your advantage, sports training, spotting more challenging moves, using PFA groups and switches to create combinations and basic gymnastics. Instructors who successfully complete this course will understand the physics involved with static pole and will be able to safely spot students and teach one arm spins, combination spins and reverse grabs. Instructors will also be able to recognize which moves should be taught first based on progression recommendations.
Level 2 Prerequisites:
Basic requirements to take the Level 2 Online Training and Certification course include:
- PFA (or PoleMoves) Level 1 Certification
- Access to a static pole that will support spins, climbs and inverted moves
- A video camera or smart phone with a video camera
- Ability to upload videos to a sharable location such as YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.
With Level 2, we begin teaching inverted (and therefore higher risk) moves. As this training is being done remotely, we must require the following prerequisites in order to participate in this course. If you do not already have a solid ability to perform the following moves, you MUST have access to a local instructor who can spot you and work with you while you perfect them:
- Basic Inversion
- Shoulder Dismount
- Figure 4 Layback
- Inverted Pike
- Butterfly
In addition, you will be practicing spotting these and other Level 2 moves. To complete the assignments, you must also have a volunteer to practice with who is already competently able to do these moves. We do not condone learning and practicing spotting techniques on someone who does not already know how to perform these moves as it poses too great a risk to both the trainee and the volunteer.
*Level 2 CEC Note: The PFA is an approved provider for ACE, NASM and AFAA. For ACE, you will receive the CEP number upon passing and the Level 2 course is worth 0.9 CEUS. For AFAA and NASM, you must petition for credits, but there should be no issues with receiving them as we are an approved provider.
About Level 3
You must successfully complete the Level 2 Certification before beginning the Level 3 Certification
Successful completion of the Level 3 training and certification course provides certification to teach advanced pole classes.
Building on the first two levels, Level 3 will help instructors develop their ability to move clients through a series of moves and dismount the pole through an aerial handstand (aka Handspring). Instructors will also work more with the Pole Fitness Alliance Groups and Switches which gives simplicity to creating seemingly complex combinations.
Level 3 Pre-requisites: In order to succeed with Level 3 certification, you must have your Level 1 and 2 Certifications and should already be comfortable with Level 3 moves including one-handed spins (including reverse grabs), shoulder mounts, the caterpillar climb, the extended butterfly, various brass monkey entrances, and the aerial handstand (aka Ayesha and handspring).
Level 3 Prerequisites:

- PFA (or PoleMoves) Level 2 Certification
- Access to a static pole that will support spins, climbs and inverted moves
- A video camera or smart phone with a video camera
- Ability to upload videos to a sharable location such as YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.
With Level 3, we are teaching inverted moves with fewer points of contact. As this training is being done remotely, we must require the following prerequisites in order to participate in this course. If you do not already have a solid ability to perform the following moves, you MUST have access to a local instructor who can spot you and work with you while you perfect them:
- Shoulder Mount
- Caterpillar Climb
- Extended Butterfly
- Descending into a Brass Monkey
- Aerial Handstand (aka Ayesha) descent and ascent (aka Handspring)
In addition, you will be practicing spotting these and other Level 3 moves. Due to the higher level of injury risk if the Level 3 moves are spotted incorrectly, you must complete the spotting portion of the training IN PERSON with any of our Master Trainers. As long as your spotting technique is solid, this should take less than 30 minutes and this 30 minute session is included in your training cost. However, any additional live training time must be purchased directly from your Master Trainer.
